Poetry

The Last Oracle

by Clinton Van Inman

The last priestess of Delphi
Stood before us to proclaim:
Kneel to nothing beyond us, for
The cold, blank stare of the Sphinx
Sadly reminds the one who thinks
That truth alone
Is cold as stone.
There is nothing above
The power of love.
